40 Years Deleproject

We’ve just had two unforgettable days…

On Thursday 17 October 2019, we met at daybreak in Zermatt. The mountain guides welcomed us at the hotel and led us to the lower station. Equipped with crampons and climbing harnesses, we took the cable car high up to the Klein Matterhorn. At 3883m, we were met with a cold breeze around our ears and bright sunshine. Then, we were secured and off we went as four rope parties towards Breithorn.

Wading through the fresh snow of the glacier.

The path became steeper and the air thinner.

Nearly there.

Destination reached, Breithorn at 4164m.

In keeping with the 40th anniversary, our team did a 4000m climb. Full of joy and surrounded by a breathtaking view, we had earned our summit wine. After descending back down we made our way back to Zermatt. In the evening we enjoyed a fine meal in the hotel’s own restaurant, The Factory at Unique Hotel Post.

The next day we visited the heliport of Air Zermatt in Raron. Thomas worked for 30 years as a mechanic and paramedic at Air Zermatt. He was therefore able to explain to us both the technology of a helicopter and his work as a lifesaver with equal insight; both interlarded with countless stories.

The highlight was that we were all able to experience a sightseeing flight.

After an indulgent aperitif we headed back to Zermatt. In the afternoon, some climbed the ropes park and others rested in the spa area of the hotel. We spent the evening at Julen, a restaurant where we were served an outstanding menu specially put together for Deleproject. Naturally, we then talked and laughed for hours about the two incredibly eventful and unforgettable days while fittingly celebrating 40 years of Deleproject. Thank you for allowing us to experience it all together.
