Customer Project in Pakistan

In March 2013, I Joachim Müller, performed the job of commissioning in Sheikhupura, in northern Pakistan. The factory housed Nestlé Pakistan’s baby milk powder production line. In this system, ours was indeed a small but key part of the facility. It handles the direct metering of additives into the production process.

The somewhat tense political situation of the nation was present everywhere, especially in the daily stops conducted when the car entered or left the factory premises. Even a large cadre of guards was very much in evidence. Otherwise, one can speak of a normal start with the usual challenges that are to be encountered.

The Pakistanis I met were friendly people, even if you as a European have to get used to their pace of work.  Last autumn I had thought the Iranians were bold or even daredevil motorists, I did not know what was to await me in Pakistan… It is a country of Michael Schumachers, Sebastian Vettels and Valentino Rossis. A passenger’s heart rate is often more than 100 per minute!

Due to the tense situation, I got to know nothing about the country itself. The only excursion was a Sunday night dinner with the project leader in the city centre of Lahore. There we got to know a bit of the history and tradition of the country. In the above image, the Badshahi Mosque can be seen in the middle of Lahore. This is the fifthlargest mosque in the world.
